Samantha voices support for women-centric films

Samantha is the busiest actress in south India right now. The number of projects she is currently part of and the number of releases she is awaiting, are second to none. She has two of her commercial films releasing on August 15th – Anjaan in Tamil and Rabhasa in Telugu. 

Recently, when asked in an interview if she’s not bored of doing commercial films, she said that she’s part of a male-dominated industry where there are hardly any roles for heroines. She wishes to see more women-centric films being made in the industry and hopes to be part of them. But when she was recently offered the southern remake of Queen, she was quick to decline the offer as she strongly felt it was a film that can’t be remade in any language as it will lose it essence.
