The reasoning behind ‘Romeo Juliet’ title

Romeo Juliet is an upcoming film starring Jayam Ravi and Hansika in the lead roles. It is directed by debutant Lakshman, a former associate of director-actor SJ Suryah. “The name ‘Romeo Juliet’ has been used since time immemorial to identify love and lovers. It is surprising that this title has not been used in Tamil cinema yet,” says the director. The film is a fantasy love story and will be presented in an enjoyable manner.

Jayam Ravi expects his lover to be dedicated and conservative. He expects his love to be on the lines of 1947 love stories, where everything seemed poetic. On other hand, Hansika plays a girl who is calculative about her future plans. She likes to lead a secured life always thinking ahead of times, say 2025. How the duo fall in love with contradicting aspirations forms the plot. Romeo Juliet is produced Madras Enterprises Film Ltd and has music by Imman.
