Raju Murugan’s Cuckoo goes to Korea

Cuckoo, a film that portrayed the love story between two visually challenged people poetically on screen is soon to be dubbed in Korean and will be released in Korea. Cuckoo is directed by Raju Murugan, a journalist turned filmmaker who penned the story of the film taking inspirations from his life as a journalist for several years. The film which featured Attakathi Dinesh and newcomer Malavika Nair in the lead roles was produced by Fox Star Studios and The Next Big Film Productions.

Koreans have an affinity for love stories and revenge thrillers in the same breath. Romantic films like My Sassy Girl, A Moment to Remember and The Classic were runaway hits and the Cuckoo team is expecting the film to do well there. The film will be trimmed a little to suit the Korean audiences. It would be interesting to see how they receive the spellbinding music of Santhosh Narayanan.
