Rajinikanth likely to skip Modi’s swearing-in ceremony

Superstar Rajinikanth is one among the many stalwarts who have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony of the soon-to-be Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today. Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Salman Khan are likely to attend the historic ceremony in the national capital. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan President Rajapakse’s participation in today’s function has irked the political leaders in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu CM J. Jayalalitha has already condemned the invitation to Rajapakse and made it clear that no one from her party will take part in the oath taking ceremony. A fringe student group yesterday protested outside Rajinikanth’s house to not share the stage with Rajapakse who is accused of war crimes in SriLanka for the genocide of innocent Tamils. Rajinikanth, keeping in mind the pro-Tamils sentiments in the state, is likely to skip the swearing-in ceremony, say sources.
