“Rajinikanth is a superstar. I am not”, says Shah Rukh Khan

That Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan share a great rapport off screen is well-known. In fact, Rajinikanth has done a blink-and-miss cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One and the latter repaid it with a tribute in his Chennai Express with the ‘Lungi Dance’. In a recent interview, Shah Rukh Khan has humbly accepted that Rajinikanth is a superstar but he is not.

When he was asked “How do you react when critics say Shah Rukh Khan is Shah Rukh Khan in every film? People say the same about Rajinikanth too but do you need to act is the question”, Shah Rukh Khan promptly replied back saying, “Rajinikanth is a superstar. I am not a superstar. I need to work, I need to reinvent, not just myself even the cinema around me because I can control that.”
