Mysore Palace says NO to Rajinikanth

The pooja for Rajinikanth’s Lingaa with KS Ravikumar held in the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore yesterday. Fans thronged in to catch a glimpse of Superstar from the Chamundi Hills. The team was hoping to shoot some important scenes in the Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hills and Srirangapatna. However, the team has been denied permission to shoot in the Mysore Palace.

Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director TS Subramanya informed a daily, “A verbal request to grant permission to shoot inside the Palace has come to us, but there has been no official communication from the film’s team. If they have to shoot inside the Palace, permission has to come from the state government and various other departments.”

Rajinikanth’s last shooting in the Mysore Palace happened for P. Vasu’s Chandramukhi. The song ‘Athinthom’ featuring Nayanthara and Rajinikanth was filmed in the Mysore Palace.
