Radhika Apte has been on the receiving end ever since she lashed out at the Telugu film industry for being male-dominated in a recent interview to film critic Rajeev Masand. “I think the one industry that I struggled the most with is Telugu. That industry is so so patriarchal, male-dominated and chauvinistic. It’s unbearable,” said Radhika Apte.
“Even my part in their films is like, “My man is the god”. On sets, you are treated like some third person. I’m the actor. They don’t even ask their actors anything. I constantly struggled and I have put an end to it and I realized that that’s it for me there,” she said.
