Purampokku: Arya is Balu, Vijay Sethupathi is Yamalingam

SP Jananathan’s next Purampokku is swifting at a brisk pace and is on the verge of completion. Interesting thing about the film is SP Jananathan has named his characters based on popular personalities involved in Indian history. “Not everyone confined in prison is guilty. People like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and many leaders created history behind iron bars. The names for the principle characters  in the film were selected from the Indian history. Arya is named as Balu who was a real legend, born in Madurai and lived in Andhra as a cop later. Karthika is named after  Kuyili, lieutenant of  Velu Nachiyar, she was the  freedom fighter who swapped herself to be a human bomb to destroy the Britain’s arm godown. Shaam was named Macualay who designed the education system and punishment rules of the British regime. Vijay Sethupathi is named Yamalingam, an absolute brat of a character.”

The film is likely to be wrapped up soon and will be the next release of UTV Motion Pictures.
