Puli grabs U from the censor board

The much-awaited censor examination of Vijay’s Puli happened today at a preview theater in Chennai and the officials have granted universal viewing for the film which caters to all sections of audiences. As a big budget vehicle, the U certificate was highly needed to aid the film’s prospects at the box office since it makes Puli eligible for exemption from entertainment tax in the state.

We have to see if the state-appointed tax exemption committee waives the entertainment tax for the film, which is gearing up for release on October 1st to seize the opportunity of four-day Gandhi Jayanti weekend.

Directed by Chimbudevan, Puli stars Vijay, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles, apart from Sridevi and Sudeep who play pivotal roles.
