Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) has condemned the recent decision of Lingaa distributors to go on a mass begging protest in front of Rajinikanth’s residence and theaters that screened the movie. TFPC President Kalaipuli S Thanu and other notable members including Kathiresan, PL Thenappan, T. Siva, Radha Krishnan have come to the rescue of Rajinikanth and producer Rockline Venkatesh in the stalemate which has been hanging around for the past one month.
“We strongly condemn this act of distributors to go on a mass begging protest. Rajinikanth’s films have always had a success ratio of 97% in the past and distributors and theater owners have mostly gained from it. The losses incurred for Lingaa should be resolved in their respective organizations. Escalating it to Rajinikanth and harassing the producer are unethical. Also, we are strongly against the participation of any politicians in the issue,” says TFPC in a statement.
