Producers agree to share VPF with theater owners till 2020
TFPC has agreed to share the VPF (Virtual Print Fee) charges with the theater owners till 2020. Both TFPC and theater owners association have agreed to the following points.
- Producers will pay 50% as VPF, while theatre owners will pay the rest, till 2020.
- E-Cinema VPF charges will apply until April 2019
- D-Cinema VPF charges will apply until April 2020
- Films won’t be sold to syndicate theatres
Meanwhile, there are reports that the strike will be called off in the next few days and new releases will soon hit theaters from next week in Tamil Nadu. An official confirmation is awaited from Vishal and team soon.
