Petition filed against Lakshmi Menon and Thulasi Nair

Trust people and organisations in Tamil Nadu to do bizarre things against cinema. Now, an organisation has filed a petition in court against actresses below 18 seeking a ban as it would have a psychological effect on them and would affect others who belong to the same age group. In Kollywood, Lakshmi Menon just recently completed 18 years of age and Thulasi Nair of Kadal, who is awaiting the release of Yaan, is just 17 years.

Muthuselvi of Tamil  Nadu Makkal Katchi is the petitioner who filed a complaint againt Thulasi Nair and Lakshmi Menon seeking a ban on the two actresses citing that it’s against the law of child welfare. Interestingly, the court has flatly dismissed the petition saying the dreams and ambitions of artistes cannot be curbed on legal grounds.
