Timepass comic caper
Debutant director Ashok picks a great idea and turns it into a timepass movie, but with some more work on his papers, it would have turned into a crazy little thriller. With decent camera and music, Peechankai ends up as a jolly stress buster which you shouldn't complain much about.

Right from the trailer, Peechankai has caught the interest of many a people thanks to its interesting concept of Alien Hand Syndrome. The film uses the medically backward concept as it’s crux, and builds a watchable crime comedy around it with a long list of characters.
Peechankai follows a pickpocket who gets acquainted with the alien hand syndrome issue after an accident. In an attempt to set right the problem, he is forced to take up a wrongdoing which then takes turns. The film has a very good first half where the concept is nicely brought in and explained to the viewer. It is only in the second half where things slow down, but some respite is provided with the help of the comic sequences.
Newcomer Karthik who plays Smoodhu enjoys playing his role, though he has a lot to develop on the acting side. The big supporting cast aids the film’s motive positively, especially the comedians.
Team Peechankai has to be applauded for making this quirky entertainer with the very low resource they had and succeeding in keeping the audience entertained.
