Partner Movie Review

Debutant director Manoj Damodharan’s Partner is a timepass comedy that does not offer great strokes or story, but a handful of laughs do come along.

The film is about two friends who join a company who specialize in different forms of theft, and while attempting to steal different things, they come across a scientist who is forming a machine that entirely changes the visual look of the person. When Yogi Babu mistakenly sits on the machine, he transforms into a young woman (Hansika). The rest of the story is based on the comedy that takes place between the characters.

Partner does not offer much in terms of its plot progression in the first half, as there is hardly anything to laugh at here. It is only after the Hansika – Yogi Babu transformation that the film turns funnier, as there are a lot of comic sequences in the second that bring about laughter. The film is decent in terms of being an entertainer, at best.

Aadhi has done a Tamil film after a long time, and he has abided by the rules of a comic entertainer well and has performed well. Yogi Babu is not in the form we have seen in recent times, and the film lights up well when he transforms into Hansika in the second half.

The visuals are adequate, and the music by Santhosh Dhayanidhi does not hamper the proceedings. The short runtime of the film also helps.

On the whole, Partner is a decent entertainer that you can watch without complaining if you are looking for a timepass film.  Partner Tamil Movie Review by Team Only Kollywood
