Parthiepan clarifies on Vijay and Surya

Rumors were abuzz in the media Parthiepan was the first choice to direct Vijay’s Nanban and then he was dispelled from the project since he requested the producers to rope in Surya instead of Vijay. Parthiepan has denied the reports as blatant rumors and sent an official press release to the media clarifying the same.

“It is true that I was approached by the producers to direct Nanban and Shankar was another choice too to wield the megaphone. But, the reports citing I requested Surya instead of Vijay and that’s why I was ousted from the project are nothing but baseless rumors. It was Ilayathalapathy Vijay who seconded my name for the project. How could I even have asked to replace him?,” explained Parthiepan in his inimitable style. The trailer of his Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam is appreciated by everyone on social media. Sudarshan who has done the editing for the film was introduced by Parthiepan’s mentor late veteran actor-director Manivannan.
