Though we witnessed many romantic-emotional movies in the history of Tamil Cinema, Pallip Paruvathilae is yet another outing in this genre, but with a new backdrop which is set on teenage love story.
The movie revolves around in a village in Thanjavur district where the hero Nandhan Ram and heroine Venba studies in the same class. On the other hand, KS Ravikumar portrays as hero’s father and also as the school principal who is very strict and well respected/disciplined human. Ponvannan plays the role of heroine’s father and RK Suresh as Uncle to the heroine, who are also the bigwigs in the village.
Once the romance between the lead brooms, a situation comes where their love affair was known to the heroine’s father. The scenario goes worse and the pair was forced to bring to the village panchayat in which Venba hides her love interest towards Nandhan. Unknowing this, the hero since then tries to find the reason behind the rejection. What happens then? Whether the pair join hands or not is what the 150 mins of run of Pallip Paruvathilae is all about.
On the performance front, KS Ravikumar stands tall essaying his role at ease. Ponvannan and RK Suresh are aptly cast, also justifies their roles to the characters. Debutant Nandhan Ram and the 2nd film girl Venba too plays their roles to the best. Comic reliefs provided by Thambi Ramaiah and Kanja Karuppu are partly enjoyable. The major plus for the movie is its strong supporting cast and the let down is its slow paced first half.
Overall, Pallip Paruvathilae is a worthy emotional driven romantic story which also is backed with a strong message.
