Padmaavat is a breath-taking visual spectacle from master filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It’s the kind of cinematic experience one should enjoy in theaters. The visual splendor we associate with SLB films has gone a notch above in Padmaavat, which is powered by three ultimate performances from the formidable lead cast of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor.
The razor-sharp precision and mind-blowing symmetry in Sanjay Leela Bhansali films are second to none in Bollywood. He quietly churns out yet another masterpiece. What a magnificent storyteller! He has come up with a dignified, substantial portrayal of the Rajputs. Every Rajput worth his salt can be proud of their legacy and this film. SLB portrays the valorous spirit of the Rajputs and their never-say-die attitude in a glorious way.
If there’s a film you should watch the phenomenal performances, it’s Padmaavat. Ranveer Singh and his idiosyncrasies make a never-seen-before lethal combo. He’s making the madman roles look absolutely effortless time and again. He’s got that monstrous screen presence which no other contemporary Bollywood actor has. Period. It would not be a hyperbole to call Ranveer the show-stealer of the film. He single-handedly carries the first half on his shoulders with his incredible swag and makes all his eccentricities highly enjoyable on screen.
Deepika Padukone looks ethereal in each and every frame. She aces the role with her regal costumes and lets the story take centre stage in the first half. In a film ruled by energetic performers like Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor she quietly pulls off a dignified titular role & stands out in her own merit. If you come out with an awestruck, emotionally high climax, it belongs to Deepika.
Shahid as the proud Rajput king holds sway in showcasing the values of the clan with his beautifully understated performance. His expressive eyes add more power to his role, which has so much to take home for every proud Rajput.
On the whole, Padmaavat is a must match cinematic experience. While Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor pull off competent performances with terrific ease, Deepika Padukone owns the climax. The trio makes everyone sit up and take notice in the last 20 minutes of the film, leaving audiences spellbound with a gooseflesh-busting climax.
