The film is inspired from real life incidents and is loosely based on the murder of Sub Inspector Alwin Sudhan who was posthumously honored by the central government for the gallantry award.

When Susi told me this was a cop film, I was scared, but then, I can clearly differentiate this from my previous two cop films. I am so confident about this film that I don’t have any pre-release jitters.
I play an undercover cop, who is an encounter specialist in the film which is based in Madurai. Paayum Puli will be an exciting film in my career.
