Review Overview
Nenjil Maamazhai
Poovukku
Vaazhum Valluvarae
Yaenadi
Eppodhum Unmael Nyabagam
Geedhaara Kiliye
Carefully churned out melodies.
Taking two composers into the frame, Priyadarshan has extracted some adequately listenable melodies that will do the job for now. However, the soundtrack's last song Geedhaara Kiliye stands a class apart from the rest and is the best of the lot.
Cast: Udhayanidhi Stalin, Namitha Pramod, Parvathi Nair

Music: Darbuka Siva, Ajaneesh Loknath
Direction: Priyadarshan
Label: Sony Music
Nenjil Maamazhai: Music – Ajaneesh Loknath, Singer – Haricharan, Shweta Mohan
A neat melody that neither scores differently nor dies down in the general lane. Haricharan is possibly the reason to make this a listenable track. Our FIRST PICK.
Poovukku: Music – Darbuka Siva, Singer – Shweta Mohan
Shweta Mohan let’s her voice fly in this free-spirited song where the orchestration takes the back seat and let’s solely the vocals do the talking.
Vaazhum Valluvarae: Music – Darbuka Siva, Singers – Aparajitha, Jyotsna
Too short to call anything on it. Ideally, it needn’t had to be included in the album.
Yaenadi: Music – Darbuka Siva, Singer – Haricharan
Gently lilting melody where Haricharan does the hard part with ease. Darbuka Siva keeps it really simple in the vocal areas and takes control only in the interludes. Our PICK.
Eppodhum Unmael Nyabagam: Music – Ajaneesh Loknath, Singer – Vijay Prakash
Typically setup pathos that doesn’t contribute much musically. Genuine heard-before feel.
Geedhaara Kiliye: Music – Darbuka Siva, Singer – Sathyaprakash
Sounds outstandingly smooth in the first listen. The lovable marriage between the strings, the beat and Sathyaprakash’s carnatic flavoured rendition is such a feast to the ears. Lyrically strong too, this is gold coming out, at the end of the album. Darbuka Siva continues to shine, this is our PICK.
