Actor Ramachandran, known for his performances in films such as ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, ‘ Jigardhanda’ and ‘Sathuranga Vettai,’ talks about his recent role in Aramm, where he plays the father of Kaaka Muttai Vignesh.
Speaking about it, Ramachandran said in a statement, “I am basically from Theni. I came to Chennai around 17 years back for work and I wanted to join as an assistant cinematographer. But I landed up being an assistant director and started doing small roles as an actor. One led to another and eventually became friends with director Gopi Nainar and got this wonderful opportunity in ‘Aramm’. When Gopi sir gave me ‘Aramm’ script for reading I just loved it thoroughly and asked him who all are playing the key roles without knowing I am going to do one. Even when I read it, I realised and got my self-connected to this role. The weather condition in ‘Aramm’ shooting spot was unbearable and people used to faint and fall at times. Gopi Sir’s vision, script, passion and hard work was amazing. He was very clear in what he wanted out of actors. I am indebted to him for having given me such a role in ‘Aramm’. Nayanthara madam was such a simple human being in spite of being such a huge star. She encouraged me a lot and was always pleasant. Producer Rajesh Sir’s hospitality and the way he treated everyone on the sets was so touching. I am very happy with the response ‘Aramm’ and my role in it is getting from the Tamil cinema audience and I am looking forward to doing many such solid roles.”
