Nalan Kumarasamy’s ‘Kai Neelam’ deals about crime, vanity and sensibility

We earlier reported here that Nalan Kumarasamy, who made heads turn with his debut film Soodhu Kavvum, will start begin his next film titled Kai Neelam, a sort-of sequel to Soodhu Kavvum in December. “Kai Neelam is the next chapter in a trilogy I’ve planned. The second film’s central concept goes like this — in life, it’s not enough to have guile, you should also know how to get out of a difficult situation, even if it means falling at one’s feet. The film is called Kai Neelam but it’s a movie that deals with not just crime and vanity but also sensibility. That’s why I’m calling this chapter two of Soodhu Kavvum. You could call this the Trilogy of Trick,” says Nalan Kumarasamy to a daily.

Nalan Kumarasamy also refused to acknowledge that Gautham Karthik is in the running for the lead role. However, he has confirmed that there will be two male characters and two equally important female characters. He also reveals that the story is based in Chennai. Santhosh Narayanan, Leo John Paul and Dinesh will take of music, editing and camerawork respectively.
