“My next is a period film set in the 9th century,” says Vishnuvardhan

Director Vishnuvardhan says his next project, which he is co-writing with veteran writer Bala Kumaran, is a period film set in the 9th century. “It requires a lot of research.I believe Balakumaran sir is the man for this film, which demands a lot of historic details and facts. We have been travelling to temples across the state to read the various stone inscriptions. From those inscriptions we have been collecting information for our script,” says Vishnu.

After straddling between action and crime thrillers, Vishnuvardhan is finally set to break the mould with his first movie in the period genre. Interestingly, this was a project Vishnu envisioned few years back with Balakumaran but had to put on the backburner due to his prior commitments. The cast of the project is expected to be decided after the script is ready.
