Muslim group seeks ban on Thirumanam Enum Nikkah

A Muslim group in Tamil Nadu, Shia Muslim Jamaat’s vice president Ali Khan has filed a case against Aascar Ravichandran in Madras High Court seeking a ban on his upcoming film Thirumanam Enum Nikkah. Directed by Anees, TEN is a love story of a Muslim boy(played by Jai) and a Hindu girl(played by Nazriya).

“If the film is released, it will hurt the sentiments of Muslims and cause unrest in the state. The film has portrayed Muslims and their traditions in a bad light. The producer has already depicted Muslims in a tasteless manner in his previous production venture Velayadham. We urge the court to file a criminal case against Aascar Ravichandran and seek an immediate ban against the release of the film,” said the petition from Ali Khan.
