According to insider reports, the multiplex theatre owners are quite unhappy with Vishal’s stand in the ongoing stalemate between Tamil Nadu government and the film fraternity. Sources say Vishal has proposed Rs. 80 per ticket for theatres in towns and Rs. 120 per ticket for multiplexes, in addition to the abolition of LBET (local body entertainment tax).
However, multiplex owners refused to agree to Vishal’s solution since they are happy with the price increase of Rs. 150 per ticket in their regions. Now, the TFPC and theatre owners association are all set to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister EPS either today or tomorrow to arrive at a final solution. Sources say the issue will be resolved before this weekend.
