Mithran Jawahar teams up with Srikanth

For a change, Mithran Jawahar is not directing Dhanush this time. Popular for his collaboration with the national award winning actor in Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Kutty and Uthamaputhiran (all three films are remakes of Telugu films), he is set to wield the megaphone for ‘Samiyattam’, a remake of the Telugu film Swamy Ra Ra. The film featuring Srikanth, VJ Pooja and Murugadoss, Sampath and Telugu actor Jeeva has already gone on floors.

It will be bankrolled by Srikanth’s home banner Golden Friday Films. “It will a full-length comedy entertainer. We promise you a laugh riot,” says Mithran. The team is currently shuttling between Chennai and Pondicherry. Gopi Jagadheeswaran of Yuvan Yuvathi fame is behind the lens and Shwaran who has composed music for more than 400 TVCs will make his composing debut.
