Mersal: Vijay extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by him
Thalapathy Vijay, who got embroiled in a controversy for his anti-GST dialogues in Mersal, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by him.
“Mersal arrived as a Diwali release and is running successfully everywhere after receiving overwhelming reception from audiences. The movie also faced some stiff opposition from various quarters. However, my friends from the film industry, actors, actresses, directors, South Indian Film Artists Association, Tamil Film Producers’ Council, national-level political leaders, heads of regional political parties, party representatives, friends from the media industry and my fans came forward and stood by me throughout the issue. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the film a huge success,” read a rough translation of Vijay’s statement in Tamil.
