Mersal may become the first Tamil film to release in China

At the audio launch of Peranbu, director Ram mentioned that his film could become the first Tamil movie to score a theatrical release in China. Ram said his team is on the verge of signing the deal with a Chinese distributor.

Now, Thalapathy Vijay’s Mersal may become the first Tamil movie to release in the Middle Kingdom. HGC Entertainment, which released Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3, has acquired the China theatrical rights for Mersal. China Film Group is yet to allocate a release date for the movie directed by Atlee and produced by Thenandal Studios.
