Mersal achieves two important feats in Japan which no other Tamil film did
Vijay’s Mersal has achieved two important feats in Japan, which no other Tamil film did. It has become the first Tamil film to be screened in four locations in Japan: Tokyo, Ebino/Kanagawa, Osaka, and Nagoya. Mersal has also become the first Tamil film to get a Friday evening show in Japan.
Meanwhile, back home, things are getting tough as Vishal, president of TFPC, is fighting the double taxation against the government and has said that there will be no new Tamil releases until the issue gets resolved. However, Murali Ramasamy of Sri Thenandal Films has said that the film will have a worldwide release on Diwali as scheduled.
