‘Marma Desam’ fame director Naga to conduct screenwriting workshop in Chennai

Grasp the sensibility of storytelling, dialogues and character development from a free thinking, celebrated storyteller who has crafted some unforgettable screen moments. Explore the key concepts and fundamental principles involved in the process of screenwriting. Get a deep insight into the work from which all other filmmaking flows. The interactive workshop addresses diverse profiles, needs, goals, and attitudes of aspiring writers & is conducted by professional with experience & passion for cinema.
 
Format: Exploring & understanding the elements of storytelling and adapting to audiovisual medium. Identifying and fitting ideas to the short film format. Writing and layering for the screen with a basic intro to the elements of film language with relevant exercises & film viewing.
 
Resource Person– Naga: A cinematography graduate from the prestigious FTII, Pune is a popular director who is a master of several arts. Naga has to his credit more than 20 documentaries and ad films as a director. His out of the box thinking tempered with logical science, emotional understanding & deep grasp of traditional practices makes for major screenwriting techniques. He is patient and passionate as a teacher.
 
Facilitator – Shylaja Chetlur: An entrepreneur, filmmaker & South Indian actor working in television, theater and films, as a performer and content creator. With about 20 years experience in several aspects of media arts, passion for the profession rules all that she does. Cinema Rendezvous, the film club that showcases films, filmmakers, and their art is a testimony to her approach to media practices.
