Marathi blockbuster Sairat to be remade in four southern languages
Marathi blockbuster Sairat which has been raking in the moolah at the box office is all set to be remade in four southern languages. Rockline Venkatesh has bought the official remake rights for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and will co-produce all four versions with Zee Studios.
“Sairat has achieved a feat that is going to be remembered forever in the history of Indian cinema. The neo-realistic love story, based on caste system, has proved to be extremely popular and successful. We are excited to partner with Rockline Entertainment to remake Sairat and are sure that this synergies of strength will achieve greater success,” says Nittin Keni, CEO, Zee Studios in an official statement.
Sairat revolves around the heart-wrenching love story between a lower caste boy and upper caste girl.
