Mani Ratnam’s next is an urban love story; to be wrapped up in December
Mani Ratnam’s next starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen started rolling last week and there is an unparalleled buzz for the film as all Mani Ratnam films. The film is said to be an urban love story, which is undoubtedly, Mani’s forte. It will be made in a shoe-string budget of 5 – 6 crores. The film will be a bi-lingual in Tamil and Malayalam, since Dulqeer and Nithya Menen command a good fan following in Mollywood. It will be shot continuously for the next three months and will be wrapped up in December.
Produced by Mani Ratnam’s homebanner Madras Talkies, this yet-untitled flick is slated for release in the first quarter of 2015, says a source in the know. The film marks the coming together of Mani Ratnam and PC Sreeeram, who is totally kicked about the project, after their blockbuster previous outing Alaipayuthey. AR Rahman, a Mani Ratnam, will compose music for the film and Eka Lakhani, who worked in Kadal as a costume designer, has been retained for this film too.
