Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman team up for Ok Kanmani Hindi remake

Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who conducted his first masterclass in Mumbai yesterday organized by Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), confirmed the Hindi remake of his superhit last outing Ok Kanmani. The remake will be helmed by Shaad Ali, a former associate of Mani who has collaborated in Dil Se, Guru and Raavanan. Interestingly, Shaad Ali made his directorial debut with Saathiya, Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam’s Alaipayuthey.

Mani Ratnam will reportedly co-write the screenplay of Hindi version along with Shaad Ali. AR Rahman will compose music and PC Sreeram is also expected to join the team to wield the camera. The project, which will go on floors early next year, will feature the Aashiqui 2 pair Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
