Madras will be a milestone in Karthi’s career, says Pa. Ranjith

Produced by Studio Green and directed by Pa. Ranjith, Madras has Karthi and newcomer Catherine Tresa in lead roles. The shooting for the film is 99% completed and only few patch works are left. Karthi plays Kaali, an IT worker who hails from North Chennai and speaks Madras Tamil, which he managed well without hiccups. The film portrays the lives of people in North Chennai. Without a shred of aberrance, we have depicted the plight of people living there in honest manner.

“Like Paruthiveeran, Madras will be a milestone in Karthi’s career. I narrated the screenplay to Karthi only to ask his opinions about it, but he decided to play the lead role himself and came on board. We have extensively on the nook and corner of the streets in North Chennai where our cameras went before,” says Pa. Ranjith. The audio launch for the film is scheduled on June 23 and the film is slated for July release. “Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music and there is one gaana song in funeral backdrop in the film, which will be talked about,” adds Ranjith.
