Lingaa story and the Mullaiperiyar Dam connection

Mullaiperiyar Dam issue is one of the controversial accounts hampering the states of both Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Recently, the Supreme Court subdued the law enacted by the Kerala government which restricts the water level in the dam. In Lingaa, Rajinikanth plays an engineer who conceptualizes and constructs the dam for the benefit of people in both the states, tells a little birdie from the crew.

However, the story is written in a delicate manner and will never touch upon the controversial side. Rajinikanth was cautious to never hurt sentiments of the people at any cost and conveyed the same to KS Ravikumar while the latter penned the story, says a source. The shooting for the film is going in full swing in Mysore and the gorgeous damsel Sonakshi Sinha has just completed her first schedule where scenes that deal with 1940s timeline were shot.
