Raghava Lawrence forays into Bollywood

Raghava Lawrence’s Muni franchise is one of the successful film series down South and the multi-talented actor is already busy directing the third part ‘Muni 3: Ganga’ starring himself and Taapsee in lead roles. Now, Lawrence is all set to foray into Bollywood to wield the megaphone for a Hindi remake of Muni. The film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor’s brother Tusshar Kapoor.

Ajay Devgan who acted in the remake of Surya’ Singham has recently watched Muni and expressed his desire to don the greasepaint for the remake. The female lead is not decided yet. However, Lawrence wants Amitabh Bachchan to reprise the transgender character essayed by Sarath Kumar to perfection. “Sarath Kumar’s role is the driving force behind the entire script, conveying a larger message to society. I prefer to have a star like Amitabh Bachchan, who has a huge image, and when he says something on screen the reach will be high,” says Lawrence.
