Actress Kushboo Sundar quits DMK
Actor-turned-politician has finally decided to call it a day on her political career. She campaigned hard for DMK and was a major crowd-puller for the party in 2011 Assembly elections. She continued to appear on news channels for the past few years defending her party’s policies and decisions. Her eloquence made her a perfect spokesperson for representing the party at a national level. Last year, she lander herself in controversy with uncalled-for remarks on party’s treasurer MK Stalin and in result, her house was attacked by unidentified persons and eventually she was expelled from the party temporarily back then.
Her rapport with the party members has always been obscure, leave alone those in the higher-echelons of administration. Ever since, her position in the party has always been uncertain. In an official press note, she says, “She has undergone an unendurable mental agony and her work has never been recognized. I realize all the hard-work I have put in for the welfare of the party is like travelling on a one-way path. Hence, I decided to resign from all my posts in DMK with immediate basis including the basic membership of the party.”
After sending the official press release, she took to micro-blogging platform Twitter to clear the air once again.
