Kochaidaiiyaan to release after elections?

Kochaidaiiyaan which was initially scheduled to be released on April 11th got postponed for unknown reasons leaving the speculations wide open for trade pundits. Now, Soundarya R. Ashwin, the director of the film has opened up on the reasons behind the postponement of the release in an English tabloid. “There is no delay in the release of the film. Due to elections, we are in two minds and are yet to finalize the date,” says Soundarya.

So, it is evident that Kochaidaiiyaan team is pondering over the release date keeping in mind the Loksabha elections on April 24th for Tamil Nadu. But, considering the pan-Indian appeal and fan following Rajnikanth commands, not only the elections in TN matter. Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra are another huge markets for the actor and the production house cannot afford to take any risk with this mega budget film. If the release date is not locked at the earliest, the team will definitely have a tough time to take a call since polls will take a plunge starting the mid week of April.
