Kochadaiiyaan mints 85 crores at the box-office

Kochadaiiyaan grossed 42 crores in its opening weekend at the box-office as per the official release from Eros International. It raked in 32 crores in India with Tamil Nadu occupying the lion’s share and 12 crores from the rest of the world. The film is still doing good business in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, but the market was not favorable to Superstar in Andhra Pradesh as predicted by trade pundits.

However, the overall theatrical collection for the film stands at 85 crores in 12 days as per industry sources. With the addition of satellite and digital rights, it is likely to break even its budget of 125 crores in few days. Murli Manohar, the co-producer of the film had earlier accepted that Kochadaiyaan’s reception in the north has been lukewarm and the team doesn’t expect any revival of sorts. He also confirmed that the sequel to Kochadaiiyaan is very much on.
