Review Overview
Raaja Paatu
Pathikichu Paathiya
Kaadhoram
Kattappa
Kuduthu Paaru Kee
Competent, digitally progressive soundtrack.
Vishal Chandrasekhar, who came up with a memorable album with SBKT for Jiiva, returns to throw around some experiments in this techno-dominated album called Kee. The two melodies and Raaja Paatu shine.
Cast: Jiiva, Nikki Galrani
Music: Vishal Chandrashekar
Label: Lahari Music – T Series
Director: Kalees
Raaja Paatu: Singers – Christopher Stanley, Sri Rascol
Classy experiment in the rap genre, despite some underperforming lyrics. Might not immediately click with you because of its alienated structure, but the base tune is arguably good.
Pathikichu Paathiya: Singers – Devan Ekambaram, Keshav Vinod, Niranj Suresh, Ajesh Ashok, Jagatheesh
Vishal Chandrasekhar etches out an eclectic Bollywood-like friendship number with lots of vocal variants on the mic. The hook is really magnetic, making it easy to remember. Our PICK.
Kaadhoram: Singers – Vijay Prakash, Sinduri, Sathyaprakash, Nikhil Mathew
Once again, Vishal brings in a palette of different singers and lends them different portions, with Vijay Prakash making the best use of the opportunity. This goes on to become our next PICK, just because of that ‘Puyal Mazhaiyinil’ bit which elevates the song to the next level.
Kattappa: Singers – Krishna Prasad S, Premgi, Gowtham Bharadwaj, Jagatheesh
Very unexciting dance song that only flickers because of its trumpets. Nothing worth mentioning.
Kuduthu Paaru Kee: Singers – Syd Ibu (Tupakeys)
Has a definite style quotient, but does not come out of the box and surprise you. Passable!
