Earlier the Telugu version of Vijay – AR Murugadoss’s Kaththi was reported to be released on October 31st. Now, the prospects look grim. Popular producer ‘Tagore’ Madhu, who acquired the dubbing rights for the film, is apparently keen on remaking the film since power star Pawan Kalyan has shown interest in the subject. Sources in Telugu media say a special private screening has been arranged for Pawan Kalyan today. If the film doesn’t elicit interest in Pawan Kalyan after viewing, Tagore Madhu is ready to release the dubbed version on November 7th. A final call is likely to be taken at the end of the day.
It is worth remembering that Madhu remade AR Murugadoss’s Ramana in Telugu as Tagore with Chiranjeevi reprising the role of Vijayakanth. Also, a source close to the Kaththi team reveals that Vijay is not happy with the developments of the film’s Telugu version. “Vijay sir was really not keen about remake. He wanted the dubbed Telugu version to be released,” says a source.
