Kathakali Movie Preview

Fresh from the success of Pasanga 2, director Pandiraj has one more release up his sleeve – Kathakali, for the harvest festival. Mostly known for kids-based dramas and commercial entertainers, Pandiraj has plunged into full-fledged action five years after his second feature Vamsam in the Vishal, Catherine Tresa-starrer Kathakali. Will Pandiraj prove his versatility with Kathakali, which is based on a real-life story?

After Paayum Puli‘s tepid response, Vishal is eagerly waiting to make a come-back with Kathakali, which is billed as a murder mystery. Catherine Tresa, who garnered accolades for her performance in Madras, plays the lead lady. Pandiraj has assured that there will not be any momentum-harming songs in the film. In fact, Kathakali has only two songs and both will come in the first half. Catherine Tresa will be seen playing the role of a pharmacist and come for only 40 minutes in the film. Hiphop Tamizha’s music, though not enough to captivate the music buffs, has received adequately positive reviews.

Produced by Vishal Film Factory and Pasanga Productions, Kathakali is released by Sri Thenandal Films, who commands an influential clout among theater owners. Other films releasing on January 14th include Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai, Udhayanidhi’s Gethu and the long-awaited Rajini Murugan of Sivakarthikeyan.

Plot

The entire story is narrated in 24 hours. The plot begins in Chennai and ends in Cuddalore. What happens when a normal guy is provoked? There is no villain in the film. A murder and its aftermath are narrated in a whodunit style.

Vishal

Kathakali is a differently written action thriller. Pandiraj has tried a new screenplay method in this film, which will be a whodunit which revolves around the murder of a don named Thamba. The second half of the film will be extremely gripping. A phone and rain will form integral part of the film.

Pandiraj

Kathakali is all about what happens when an individual is stirred up by meaningful anger. A joyful, happening life of a youngster is interrupted by the fate of circumstances.

There are some cute romance portions between Vishal and Catherine Tresa. Definitely, there is no dance sequence where Vishal grooves alongside 30 colorful dancers.
