Another composer from AR Rahman’s family makes his debut in Kollywood
AR Rahman’s nephew Kashif is all set to make his debut in Tamil cinema as a music composer. Kashif is AR Rahman’s sister’s son. He makes his debut in director GNR Kumaravelu’s (Ninaithale Inikkum and Haridas fame) next. GNR has signed Kumki actor Vikram Prabhu for his upcoming film which is loosely based on the lives of India’s armed forces. Vikram Prabhu plays a border security officer in the film, says a source.
Confirming the news to a daily, GNR Kumaravelu says “It is true. Kashif is being introduced in my film. He has already scored three songs for the film and they have come out exceedingly well.” Kashif was part of the Chennai-based music band ‘Staccato’ which performed in the 2012 London Olympics. The band was one among the two selected by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle amidst a myriad number of entries.
