Karthi’s film with Remo director earns the wrath of Tamil outfits
The shooting of Karthi’s film with director Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame was stalled on September 24th by Tamil outfits like Hindu Munnai Katchi and Hindu Makkal Katchi in Malaikottai. The protesters alleged that the film, which has been reportedly titled Sultan, revolves around the life of Tipu Sultan and objected to the makers shooting it inside a Hindu temple.
Produced by SR Prabhu’s Dream Warrior Pictures, the film marks the debut of actress Rashmika Mandanna in Tamil. September 24th was supposed to be the last day of the final schedule of the project before the protestors stalled the shooting.
To clarify, the makers has issued a press release by condemning the protesters and also clears that the film has no connection to the life of Tipu Sultan or the history.
