Karthik Subbaraj honored with ‘Amitabh Bachchan Youth Icon’ award
Karthik Subbaraj, who impressed the K’town with his stunning genre-bending gangster thriller Jigarthanda, has been honored with ‘Amitabh Bachchan Youth Icon’ award at the 12th edition of Chennai International Film Festival. Interestingly, this award was instituted by Amitabh Bachchan himself and Anirudh Ravichander won the award last year.
JSK Film Corporation’s Kuttram Kadithal won the Best Feature Film award and debutant director Vinoth’s critically and commercially acclaimed Sathuranga Vettai received the second Best Feature Film award. Also, debutante filmmaker Halitha Shameem’s Poovarasam Pee Pee and R Parthiepan’s quirky drama Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam won Special Jury Awards at the closing ceremony yesterday.
