“Karthi fit the role perfectly”, says Ranjith

Director Ranjith, who is awaiting the release of his second film Madras, says that Karthi fit perfectly for the lead role he etched. Karthi, who spent his childhood in T. Nagar and studied in the U.S., quickly adapted to the north Madras slang, says director Ranjith. “Though he’s from T. Nagar, he has many friends in a neighbourhood Housing Board colony, with whom he has interacted quite a bit during his growing up years. Also, there are many theatre artistes in the film and Karthi was eager to learn from them,” adds Ranjith to a daily.

Ranjith also promises that commercial elements are not infused into the story for the sake of it. Madras is all set to hit screens on September 26and will confront Suseenthiran – Vishnu’s Jeeva at the box-office.
