Kareena Kapoor asks “Who is Surya?”

Bollywood diva Kareen Kapoor has stirred the feeling of Surya fans. It was recently reported that Chitrangada Singh was roped in for an item-number in Surya’s upcoming film Anjaan. Later, the tabloids and media went over-the-top suggesting Kareen Kapoor has also joined the Anjaan team in Mumbai, where the crew is currently shooting. When asked about this to the Bollywood glam queen, she has, apparently said, “I don’t know where such baseless stories come from. I haven’t signed any such film. I don’t even know who Surya and Lingusamy are. I’ve never seen them. I’ve zero interest in acting in non-Hindi films whether it is down South or in Hollywood.“

She added, “How can I emote in a language that I don’t know? I was offered beautiful scripts by the late Rituparno Ghosh in Bengali. I never could bring myself to work with this brilliant filmmaker because of the language barrier, and now he is gone.I love the work being done in South Indian languages so in Marathi and Bengali. But I’ll have to learn these languages to act in them.” She was also against doing lip-service to a film by performing in item numbers. This blatant reply from Kareena has certainly created a stir among Surya fans.
