Kangana Ranaut to play the Queen of Jhansi in trilingual ‘Manikarnika’

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been signed to play the titular role in Manikarnika, the biopic of the Queen of Jhansi, Lakshmibai. The team unveiled a 20-feet long poster yesterday in Varanasi. The story and screenplay for the movie is penned by Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali and Vijay 61 fame.

The movie is produced by Zee Studios and will be made as a trilingual in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi by director Krish of Vaanam fame. The music for the film, which is slated to hit screens on April 27th, 2018, will be composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
