In his hour-long discussion with students of Annapoorna International School of Film and Media, Kamal Haasan revealed his most favorite film.
It will only be a temporary answer since it keeps changing. My most favourite film is Spartacus because it had everything. It had Dalton Trumbo. It has Stanley Kubrick and he was also working on the lights. There were some brilliant actors and it was one of those films which approached Rome absolutely differently and that stands good. The later Spartacus (TV series) pales in significance in front of Stanley Kubrick’sSpartacus. It is truly a classic that should go into the film appreciation repertoire. The moments where the actors have done and the actors who know that they are good and yet humbled themselves before the frame, it’s fantastic. I keep showing that to my crew when I have to explain about how difficult it is to make a complete good looking film.
Kamal Haasan’s next film is reportedly with director TK Rajeev Kumar and an official announcement can be expected soon.
