Kamal Haasan requests fans not to celebrate his birthday
Kamal Haasan has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday, which falls on November 7th, to express solidarity over the hospitalisation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha. In a tweet in Tamil, Kamal Haasan said, “A request to my fans. With Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha hospitalized, my birthday celebrations should be definitely avoided.”
Kamal Haasan’s landmark films Kuruthipunal and Nayagan recently completed 21 years and 29 years respectively since its release. Fans celebrated both films on social media platforms by recalling anecdotes, dialogues, fun facts and vintage stills.
“Touched by admirers remembering Nayakan & Kurithippunal. Hoping to make you happy in future. Applause gives my life and art more meaning,” tweeted an elated Kamal Haasan who is recuperating from his fracture in leg.
