Kamal Haasan hints at reviving Marudhanayagam

Whether Marudhanayagam will remain as the film that was never made or the longest-delayed film in Indian film industry is anybody’s guess. It’s been 17 years since Kamal Haasan kick-started the magnum-opus in the presence of high-profile celebrities like Queen Elizebeth, Karunanidhi, Sivaji Ganeshan and many others from the film fraternity. The film was indefinitely shelved due to budget constraints.

Now, in a recent interview to daily, Kamal Haasan has hinted at reviving the epic film. “Even I want to know when it will happen. Unfortunately, I won’t get the budget from local producers here. It is not a local film, but a film to be made in three languages — Tamil, French and English. But, it can be revived any moment,” said Kamal Haasan when asked if Marudhanayagam will ever be made.
